The Employment Equity act is structured around the elimination of unfair discrimination based on identifying factors such as age, race, gender, culture, belief and disability. This is done through the implementation of affirmative action measures, to ensure fair rather than unfair discrimination. Distinguishing between fair and unfair discrimination can become a sensitive and complicated process and should not be taken lightly.
